The CQE honored five people with poster session awards at the seventh annual Chicago Quantum Summit on October 21, 2024. Fifty-five people participated in the contest, which was held at the Rubenstein Forum after the first day of Summit session.
Christopher Anderson, assistant professor of materials science and engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, led the judging committee.
The winners were:
First place, overall: Alexander Senichev, postdoctoral researcher at Purdue University. Title: “Integrated Silicon Quantum Photonics with Intrinsic Single-Photon Emitters”
Second place, overall: Anastasiya Osher and Yuvraj Misra, graduate students, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Title: "Quantum Photonic Materials and Technologies"
Third place, overall: Patrick Walsh, undergraduate student, University of Wisconsin–Madison. Title: “Developing Tools and Techniques for Autotuning Quantum Dot Devices”
Best graduate student poster: Swathi Chandrika, graduate student, University of Chicago Pritzker Molecular Engineering. Title: “Quantum Engineering with Atomic Defects in Silicon Carbide”
Best undergraduate student poster: Fernanda Villalpando, Lisset Rico, and Andrea Munoz, undergraduate students, University of Illinois Chicago. “Diamond Etching: Using Computer Vision to Automate the Production of Quantum Bits”
