One of the main questions in experimental quantum information processing is how to scale quantum systems without sacrificing their coherence. My research focuses on scaling quantum systems based on superconducting and hybrid circuits in a modular, quantum network approach. My group is working on coupling mesoscopic devices, such as Josephson junctions, to propagating photons that can mediate long-range interactions. We are using these systems as elementary building blocks to study quantum network protocols, error mitigation and correction, and open quantum systems.
