Events in the CQE Community:
- April 8, 2024 through June 15, 2024: QuanTime—
- QuanTime is the National Q-12 Education Partnership's free initiative bringing quantum science activities to classrooms around the country. The QuanTime activities provided are designed for K-12 learners and are a fun, easy way to introduce quantum information science to young students. Teachers can choose between a variety of online and printable activities, with no teacher expertise in quantum science required. Registrants will be entered into a drawing to receive a quantum goodie bag. Learn more and register for an activity today.
- April 13, 2024 from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm: Celebration at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign—
- The Illinois Quantum Information Science and Technology Center will host events discussing and showcasing quantum research and discoveries. Events will begin at 10:00 AM at the Saturday Engineering for Everyone, where guest speaker Professor Chad Orzel will talk about the "Quantum Physics of an Ordinary Morning." Following the presentation will be a quantum scavenger hunt, demonstrations, liquid nitrogen ice cream and a book signing by Author Chad Orzel! A limited supply of books will be available for purchase. The World Quantum Day events are open to all campus community members and the public. RSVPs are encouraged but not required.
World Quantum Day is a bottom-up initiative aiming at promoting the public understanding of Quantum Science and Technology around the World.
