- Title:
- Nambu's road to quantum chromodynamics and to strings
- Description:
-
A presentation of two of Yoichiro Nambu's fundamental contributions from 1965 to 1970: first, his path to proposing Yang-Mills theory underlying theory of Strong Interactions; two years later, motivated by the Veneziano formula, he offered a refined model of hadrons as quarks at the end of strings ("DNA model"). These will illustrate Nambu's style of doing physics, a mixture of simplicity leading to deep insights, all presented with humility and without fanfare.
