- Where:
- University of Illinois-Chicago
- Description:
-
In partnership with the National Quantum Algorithm Center and in celebration of the International Year of Quantum, Fermilab’s SQMS Center and IBM are presenting a workshop focused on quantum algorithms and applications for both high-energy physics and chemistry.
The workshop is comprised of three tracks plus a plenary session including a hands-on introduction to quantum computing and Qiskit, a session on quantum education, and a deep-dive on utilizing quantum computation for exploring problems in high-energy physics and chemistry.
This workshop is co-organized by Fermilab’s SQMS Center and IBM with support from the University of Illinois Chicago and the Chicago Quantum Exchange. The event will be hosted at University of Illinois Chicago.
Who should apply?
- Faculty, graduate students, and postdocs who are interested in the applications of quantum computation within domains such as high-energy physics and chemistry
- Educators who are interested in incorporating quantum computing into curricula for physics, computer science, math, and other STEM disciplines
- Undergraduate students who have completed collegiate courses on quantum mechanics and/or linear algebra
- Industry professionals who want to learn more about the applications of quantum computation for industry use cases
The application deadline is Friday, July 25, at 5 p.m. CDT. If you have questions regarding the program, please send an email to sqmscenter@fnal.gov.
