Quantum: Ensuring an Inclusive Future

When:
Wednesday, April 19, 2023 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Where:
167 N. Green Street Chicago, IL
Description:

Quantum science and engineering is a platform shift technology that will radically reshape how we compute, sense, and process the world around us. While we will build on the last eighty years of classical tech, quantum allows us to apply best practices and avoid mistakes from the past. With this emerging technology comes a unique opportunity to ensure the industry is built inclusively with the diversity of people, talent, and skills necessary to solve the most pressing societal and business problems facing us. During this panel, you will hear representatives from academia, industry, and government explain why and how they prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion for successful applications and project outcomes. The panelists will discuss the current state of quantum, will cut through the quantum hype and discuss the challenges we will face if we don’t act with purpose today. There will be the chance to network following the panel.

Participants include:

  • Chloé Archambault - Principal, Quantacet
  • Biana Giaccone - Associate Scientist, SQMS Center at Fermilab
