Professor Kamal joins Northwestern from UMass-Lowell where she is an Associate Professor of Quantum Physics and Quantum Information.  She received her PhD in Physics at Yale University. Her thesis title: Nonreciprocity in active Josephson junction circuits. Archana received the Teaching Excellence Award at UMass-Lowell in 2020. In 2021, she was awarded the AFOSR Young Investigator Award as well as a NSF Career Award.

Our research involves proposing, developing and modeling such systems using a combination of analytical and numerical techniques. Specifically, we focus on superconducting circuits-based quantum information, nonlinear dynamics and  engineered open quantum systems. More details can be found on our research and publications pages.
