Ten members of CQE community named to Quantum 100

The list, released as part of the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, includes people from around the world who are helping to propel the quantum technology sector forward.

Ten members of the CQE community, including representatives of four CQE member institutions, are being celebrated as part of the global Quantum 100. The list, released December 17, 2025, as part of the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, includes people from around the world who are helping to propel the quantum technology sector forward. The Quantum 100, which spans academia, industry, education, art, culture, journalism, and policy, were selected by members of the IYQ steering committee and global coordination bureau.

The list includes four representatives of CQE member institutions:

Alexandra Boltasseva, Ron and Dotty Garvin Tonjes Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Purdue University

Anna Grassellino, Director, Senior Scientist, Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory

Nancy Kawalek, Professor and Distinguished Fellow in the Arts, Sciences and Technology, University of Chicago Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering

Paul G. Kwiat, Bardeen Professor of Physics, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (Read IQUIST's story)

It also includes six representatives of five nonprofit and corporate partners:
