Chicago Quantum Exchange, QuantX to host four-day hackathon

Organizers accepting technical and business team applicants, industry use-cases

The Chicago Quantum Exchange, an intellectual hub for the science and engineering of quantum information, and QuantX, a Paris-based association dedicated to quantum computing technologies, will host a four-day quantum hackathon in Chicago  beginning September 29. Organizers are accepting applicants for technical and business teams, as well as use-cases from companies interested in exploring quantum solutions. The deadline is September 1.

The four-day competition will convene members from across the entire quantum computing value chain, connecting industry and quantum computing platform providers with technical and business talent. It will be held at 1871, an innovation hub at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago.

QuantX has previously co-organized successful BIG Q Hackathons in Europe and Canada, generating productive discussions, creative solutions, new collaborations, and employment opportunities. The organization is partnering with the CQE to bring this competition to the US for the first time.

This competition will have a unique format with a Technical Phase (Days 1 and 2) and a Business Phase (Days 3 and 4), and offer an opportunity for insights into the quantum computing space and applications in new industry sectors. Participating institutions include AWS, Boeing, Capgemini, CSL, IBM, Infleqtion, Johnson & Johnson Innovation, NCSA, NVIDIA, Mayo Clinic, Pasqal, qBraid, Quantinuum, and QuEra.
