At HIGH-TECH CHI on December 9, 2023 from 10:30 am — 11:30 am, Dr. Doris Espiritu will moderate a panel discussion of students from the area who have had research experience in Quantum Information Science and Engineering (QISE) at the undergraduate level, particularly from Wilbur Wright College. The discussion will center around hearing from the students regarding what drew them into the field in the first place, what were the specific programs they participated in (e.g. the Open Quantum Initiative Fellowship from the Chicago Quantum Exchange) and how they currently feel about pursuing a career in QISE.
HIGH-TECH CHI is co-hosted by the City of Chicago Department of Family & Support Services, CS for Success, and Discovery Partners Institute. This event will showcase the many computing-based opportunities available to youth across the Chicagoland area. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from industry experts, explore exhibits from our sponsors, including local colleges, universities, and community-based organizations, and participate in hands-on workshops. Students in grades K-14, families, and community members are encouraged to join at Google Chicago on December 9th for this event.
