Argonne Quantum Workshop

When:
Monday, October 20, 2025 9:00 pm - Tuesday, October 21, 2025 5:00 pm
Where:
Argonne National Laboratory, Building 241, 9700 S Cass Ave, Lemont IL 60439
Title:
Creating Novel States of Matter via Enhanced Light-Matter Interactions
Description:

The workshop is motivated by the recent groundbreaking advancements in the field of cavity quantum electrodynamics and its potential to revolutionize our understanding and manipulation of matter. The primary purpose of this workshop is to bring together experts from diverse fields, including physics, materials science, chemistry, and nanotechnology, to explore the latest techniques and theories in enhancing light-matter interactions, as well as the use of the cutting-edge and upgraded facilities in DOE labs for creating and probing such new states of matter. The workshop includes discussions on the use of photonic cavities, plasmonic structures, dielectric nano-antennas, liquid droplets, and beyond to confine and manipulate electromagnetic fields to engineer physical properties of materials at the quantum level, directing chemical reactions, engineering light-matter entanglement, and developing novel sensors.

Registration is free but required. Please sign up as soon as possible to allow time to complete Argonne’s site access process.
